2005 Fellowship Committee Report

Generally, these committee reports are an opportunity to summarize the past year’s activities and outline future upcoming events. However, I must begin my report by apologizing to the membership of Gloria Dei for not achieving the responsibilities set before me. The function of the Fellowship Committee is to offer opportunities for our membership to socialize, thereby strengthening the bonds of our church family.

Due to some professional and personal circumstances I’ve haven’t conducted this role in a very satisfactory manner. I apologize.

 Fortunately, the past year provided a few activities that were well attended. First and foremost, the church picnic was a complete success. I offer my sincere appreciation to the Praise Team for all their efforts in making the outdoor service a special event. I also offer my sincere thanks to everyone who provided a dish to pass, and finally a huge thank you to the Mark Oelke family for donating the roasted pig. The picnic allowed everyone to enjoy many of God’s blessings.

 A number of church members also took the opportunity to attend a few of the Area Community Theater’s (ACT) productions. ACT’s management has graciously worked with us to provide group seating for Gloria Dei members. From all accounts, everyone enjoyed themselves and has requested similar events. Stay tuned to the church bulletin for future events.

 Finally, I will be resigning as committee chair in December. I intend to remain involved in the committee as time allows. However, this provides an opportunity for someone to step forward and guide the committee in a more successful direction. Please take this leadership opportunity into prayerful consideration.
